MPS and MoH enhance cooperation

Deputy Minister of Public Security and head of the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, and Health Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan co-chaired a meeting on September 1 with the participation of representatives from functional units under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and Ministry of Health (MoH).

Delivering the opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Son highlighted that the two ministries have closely and effectively coordinated in health care for the people, including the Public Security Forces.

Delegates at the meeting discussed difficulties and obstacles in the cooperation between the two ministries, especially in prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

They also made various recommendations to improve the efficiency of the COVID-19 fight.

Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan applauded the effort of the Public Security Forces in the pandemic prevention and fighting over the past time. He also hoped the Public Security Forces would further support the health sector in tracing infection cases and controlling the disease.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son asked the two ministries’ offices to collect all ideas and opinions raised by the delegates at the event, especially the recommendations made by doctors from the 198 Hospital under the MPS to boost bilateral cooperation in training medical staff for the intensive care unit.

He also asked the Department of Planning and Finance, and Department of Health under the MPS to coordinate with relevant units to settle all issues related to expenditure and equipment for prevention and combat of the pandemic.
