The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) has officially taken over the State management of criminal records and the issuance of criminal record certificates from the Ministry of Justice (MOJ).

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung and Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Thanh Tinh co-chaired the event, on February 27th, in Hanoi.

At the meeting, Director of the Department of Criminal Records and Archives Lieutenant General Ngo Thi Hoang Yen presented a report summarizing the process of transferring the State management of criminal records and the issuance of criminal record certificates from MOJ to MPS.

She also put forward recommendations to ensure that the agency of MPS can take on the newly transferred responsibility and perform the new task of receiving and processing people’s applications for criminal record certificates without any disruptions or delays in the coming period.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Thanh Tinh sincerely thanked MPS for its close coordination and support for MOJ over the past period.

The Deputy Minister of Justice noted that the handover of the State management of criminal records and the issuance of criminal record certificates was a significant event, hoping that it will contribute to enhancing the efficiency of State management of criminal records, ensuring cohesion and synchronization in the management, issuance and exploitation of citizens’ criminal record information.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS leadership, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung expressed his gratitude to the leadership of MOJ and its affiliated agencies for their close coordination with MPS units in carrying out a transfer process in line with the laws.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung wished that MOJ continue to closely coordinate with MPS so that the assigned agency of MPS can perform its new responsibility of managing criminal records and issuing criminal record certificates efficiently, without delays or disruptions.
