The Ministry of Public Security held a meeting of the Steering Committee for the Government’s master plan on developing models to ensure security, social order and social safety in urban management, on the afternoon of December 17th, in Hanoi.

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, delegates heard the announcement of a decision by the Minister of Public Security to establish a Steering Committee for the Government’s master plan on developing models to ensure security, social order and social safety in urban management, and working groups to assist the steering committee.

Accordingly, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung was appointed as Head of the Steering Committee, while Director of the Department of National Security Protection Movement Major General Trang A Tua was appointed as Deputy Head of the Steering Committee.

At the meeting, delegates basically agreed with the detailed outline draft of the master plan and deeply analyze the current situation of urban construction and development in provinces and centrally-run cities.

Delegates also suggested adding a number of contents to the master plan, including the need to find out shortcomings in urban construction and development, enhance management efficiency in licensing project to develop urban areas and build apartment buildings, and clearly define the responsibilities of ministries and sectors in creating a legal framework during the drafting of the master plan.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung thanked the members of the Steering Committee and the working groups for their contributions to the detailed outline draft of the master plan.

The Deputy Minister requested the working group carefully summarize the opinions and recommendations given by delegates and promptly complete the final detailed outline daft of the master plan to submit it to the competent authorities and to the Prime Minister for approval as scheduled.
