Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam and Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Duy Lam co-chaired the ceremony.

In line with the Party and Government's policy to transfer the State management of driver’s license testing and issuance from MOT to MPS, the two ministries have closely coordinated and reached a consensus on the transfer process.

Relevant units of the two ministries had worked together to make thorough preparations for the transition, adhering to the principle of a comprehensive, accurate, honest and timely handover of all related documents and records.

The two ministries should also ensure that the transition would not interrupt the process of testing drivers and issuing driver’s licenses nor cause troubles to people and businesses.

As all preparations had been made, the transfer was conducted. From March 1, MPS officially takes on the responsibility with its goal of improving the quality and efficiency of public services for the people.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam sincerely thanked all leaders, officials and employees of the transport sector for their dedication and contributions to the State management of driver’s license testing and issuance over the years.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security proposed that MOT would continue to coordinate with and support MPS in the coming time to finalize the transition process smoothly.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam pledged that MPS will continue implementing the task in a scientific and efficient manner, while upholding fairness and transparency in testing drivers, issuing and renewing driver’s licenses.

He also reaffirmed MPS's commitment to leveraging digital transformation and administrative reforms, creating favorable conditions for citizens at home and overseas to apply for driver’s license.

Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Duy Lam promised that MOT will coordinate closely with and support relevant agencies of MPS in testing drivers and issuing driver’s licenses in the transition period.
