Place of birth to be added on unclean section of Vietnamese ordinary passport
The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) had directed the Immigration Department under the ministry to add the information on the place of birth of Vietnamese citizens to the Vietnamese ordinary passport of new type, starting from September 15, 2022.
The Ministry of Public Security has sent an official dispatch requesting Vietnamese representative agencies abroad with the function of granting Vietnamese passports to Vietnamese citizens to print the citizen's information on the place of birth on the note section of the new-type Vietnamese ordinary passport.
At the same time, the Ministry of Public Security will report to the Government and the Standing Committee of the National Assembly to issue resolutions to include the "place of birth" information in all types of Vietnamese passports.
