The Department of Party and Political Work under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a ceremony on December 6 to receive donations for the charity program "Signals and computers for children", which aims to provide Internet connection electronic devices for poor students.

The Department of Party and Political Work under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a ceremony on December 6 to receive donations for the charity program "Signals and computers for children", which aims to provide Internet connection electronic devices for poor students.

Earlier, following the directions of the MPS leadership, the Department of Party and Political Work launched the charity program and called on all officers, soldiers, members of socio-political organizations in the Public Security Forces to voluntarily donate money to buy and present electronic devices with Internet access to poor students across the country, helping them study online during the pandemic.

By December 5, the program has received 119 brand-new and three like-new laptops, 156 tablets, 90 smartphones, nine used phones, 3,205 4G SIM cards as well as an amount of money to buy books, learning tools for pupils and students, worth VND 3.2 billion in total.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee received supports from under-ministerial agencies of the MPS and handed over 100 tablets to children of needy public security officers and soldiers, especially public security workers, doctors and nurses who are working on the frontline of the fight against the pandemic, and students from poor family in Hanoi.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Colonel Ngo Hoai Thu, Deputy Director of the Department of Party and Political Work, expressed her gratitude and hoped that the leaders of police units and agencies under the MPS would continue to support the program so that more disadvantaged students can access to the Internet for learning purposes.
