Vinh Long City police honored for great efforts in controlling COVID-19
PSNews - The Vinh Long City police were awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister for its outstanding achievements in prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic in the locality over the past time.
Since the beginning of the 4th wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vinh Long City police have coordinated closely with the local authorities and relevant functional forces to implement preventive measures to control the disease in the locality.
Local police set up COVID-19 checkpoints on highways, belt roads and roads connecting with its neighboring localities. They also established 9 mobile patrol teams to check people for observance of anti-COVID regulations.
While carrying out the task of preventing and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic, local police successfully handled emerging cases of negatively affecting local security and social order, investigated 11 criminal cases and arrested 15 persons involved.
Thanks to the local police effort, the number of traffic accidents dropped in terms of case, death and injury while there was no traffic jams and illegal racing in the city.
Currently, the COVID-19 pandemic in Vinh Long province has been basically controlled.
