KTM to recall 690 Duke model due to fuel leakage

PSNews – The Austrian sport motorcycles manufacturer KTM will have to recall 690 Duke motorcycles to prevent risks of fire due to a possible fuel leaks from the cap area of the gas tank.

According to the NHTSA, the plastic buffer on the gas tank cap of the 690 Duke motorcycle is deformed, causing fuel leaks from the tank while the vehicles are running on the curve, which may trigger fire and explosion. |
The above announcement was made by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), asking the KTM manufacturer to develop a plan to recall the Duke 690 model motors.
According to the NHTSA, the plastic buffer on the gas tank cap of the 690 Duke motorcycle is deformed, causing fuel leaks from the tank while the vehicles are running on the curve, which may trigger fire and explosion.
As the time and plan to recall the 690 Duke motorcycles has not yet been announced by KTM, the NHTSA recommends that the user should restrict the use of the vehicle until the repair has been completed.
In Vietnamese market, the Duke KTM 690 model is currently distributed in the form of imported complete units by the KTM manufacturer. However, the fault discovered by the NHTSA has not been found on the existing motors in Vietnam.
