At the session, Pham Sy Loi, vice secretary of the provincial Party Committee and chairman of People’s Council, said that during the integration process Ha Nam has attracted investment, especially foreign direct investment (FDI) in its economic development projects. In addition to expanding industries, the province has accelerated agricultural development towards high-tech and clean tech trends. It has pledged to create a favourable investment environment for both domestic and foreign investors, and to offer the best possible conditions to welcome businesses from Gyeonggi-Do and other Korean investors to the province.

Mr Loi asked the Gyeonggi-Do Assembly to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Ha Nam by introducing the provincial investment environment to Korean businesses operating in the support, processing, and manufacturing industries while coordinating with Ha Nam to organize trade and investment promotion activities in the RoK and Gyeonggi-Do province, as well as setting up cultural exchanges between the two provinces.

Jung Ki Yul agreed with Ha Nam leaders to organise the promotion of exchange and cooperation activities in economics, culture, and social affairs to tighten ties between the two provinces.

The RoK leads the way for foreign investors in Ha Nam province with 111 projects, including 13 projects invested by Gyeonggi-Do businesses with a registered capital of US$663.97 million, which accounts for 49.12% of the total registered capital of Korean businesses in Ha Nam.
