Chef appointed as Vietnam Airline's Global Cuisine Ambassador

PSNews - Within the framework of the official visit to Australia of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Vietnam Airlines on March 14 in Canberra held a ceremony to sign a contract and officially announce the Australian-Vietnamese chef Luke Nguyen as its Global Cuisine Ambassador.

Under the 3-year agreement (2018-2020), Luke Nguyen will be in charge of improving the quality of meals on the Vietnamese flag-carrier's flights.

The special meals designed by Luke Nguyen will feature typical Vietnamese dishes in different regions, such as North, Centre, South and Hue of Vietnam. He will also give advice to the carrier on its current 50 business-class menus in 2018.

Together with the Vietnam Airlines, Luke Nguyen will also popularize Vietnamese dishes to the world via cultural and trade exchange programs in various countries.

Luke Nguyen is a famous Vietnamese-Australian chef with more than 30 years working in the culinary sector. He is named in the Hall of Fame of the Specialty Food Association. He is also renowned for a chain of restaurants such as Red Lantern, Moi Moi by Luke Nguyen, Vietnam House across the world.

Chef Luke Nguyen has published 7 books about food and culture as well as hosted a series of food and cultural reality shows broadcast in more than 150 countries.

During the APEC 2017 Summit Week in Da Nang (Vietnam), Luke Nguyen joined Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to taste Danang "banh mi" – Vietnamese-style bread with meat, vegetables and sources.
