PSNews – The Hoang Sa District People’ Committee inaugurated the Hoang Sa Exhibition Hall on March 28 with the participation of authorities’ leaders, domestic and international visitors.

As a public unit under the Hoang Sa district People’s Committee, the center holds special political significance as it displays information, documents and images evidencing Vietnam’s exploration and establishment and protection of its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes.

The 4-storey  exhibition center which is located at Tho Quang ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city, was built from December 2015 at total cost of 43.3 billion VND (nearly USD 1.9 million). Da Nang City People’s Committee delivered the financial backing and Japan’s Wrights Architects provided consultancy and design for the house.

Exhibits are showcased in five topics, namely the geographical location and natural conditions of Hoang Sa, Hoang Sa in Vietnam’s ancient documents before the Nguyen Dynasty, Hoang Sa in documents in the Nguyen Dynasty (1802 - 1945), evidence of Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa from 1945 to 1974, and evidence of the sovereignty since 1974.
After the inaugural ceremony, the exhibition house will officially open for residents and visitors from 7:30am to 5:30pm every weekday (Monday to Friday).
Da Nang has continuously managed the whole Hoang Sa archipelago for almost six decades, so it is suitable for this center to be located on a road named after the archipelago near the East Sea (South China Sea).
In particular, the center has the shape of the sovereignty seal in the Nguyen Dynasty, which is meant to show that Vietnam established and exercised sovereignty over Hoang Sa very early.
Notably, that King Minh Mang of the Nguyen Dynasty put the seal on a document setting up the Hoang Sa flotilla was one of the important landmarks in the establishment and exercise of this indisputable sovereignty, he added.
