Film about Hanoi by Former French Ambassador to be screened
PSNews-The French Cultural Center L'Espace will present a documentary film entitled “Mon Hanoi” (My Hanoi), created and edited by former French Ambassador to Vietnam Jean Noel Poirier on October 4 in Hanoi.
After nine years in Vietnam, including four years as French Ambassador to Vietnam, Jean-Noël Poirier decided to continue living in Hanoi. As shared by the Ambassador, today's Hanoi is busy and noisy, messy and creative, old and modern, reminding him of a Paris in the past.
Hanoi is a city where every street is a lively, non-stop play, where workshops and cafes all perform on roadsides, and where the cooking odors from kitchens along the street spread in the atmosphere, and seemingly want to hold back passers-by.
Hanoi maintains an impromptu, a spirit of freedom in action if without such a spirit,a city will gradually lose its identity. For five years,Jean-Noël Poirier, a senior diplomat with deep knowledge of the Vietnamese and the language, lived in Hanoi and explored the city.
“My Hanoi” carries an ambition, which is to give the residents of Hanoi as well as all the people of Vietnam an emotional view of the beauty and charm of their capital.
The film will also be shown on VTV on October 8.
