New plant discovered in Cao Bang

This new plant has been discovered in the strictly protected area of Phiaoac - Phiaden national park, Cao Bang province.

During the survey of the diversity of some plants of northern Vietnam, scientists discovered this new plant and gave it a scientific name as Oreochariscaobangensis T.V. Do, Y.G. Wei & F. Wen, sp. nov.
Oreochariscaobangensis is characterized by purple corollas with 18-20 cm long pistil.
The scientist team found it in a humid tropical environment along the stream in the strictly protected area of Phiaoac - Phiaden national park, Cao Bang province.
This study, which has been published in the specialized magazine Phytotaxa, reflects the collaboration of the Vietnam Museum of Natural Sciences under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and the Guangxi Institute of Botany under the China Academy of Science.
