Vietnamese army’s chemical division on May 6 disinfected the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, based in Kim Chung commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi, which has been a COVID-19 hotspot in the latest outbreak.

10 specialized vehicles are utilized in order to spray the premises of the hospital. Soldiers start work on sanitizing the site at 1:30 p.m. on May 6.

The National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No. 2 located in Dong Anh district has become the country’s latest COVID-19 hotspot after dozens of positive cases were confirmed.

The hospital has been locked down for contact tracing, chemical disinfection and COVID-19 testing after a doctor was diagnosed with the virus. At present 50 positive COVID-19 cases have been detected in relation to the hospital. These cases include patients, their relatives, and healthcare workers.

Many localities also confirm new positive COVID-19 cases related to the outbreak at the hospital.

The National Hospital for Tropical Diseases receives and treats COVID-19 patients from throughout the country. It has treated more than 1,000 COVID-19 cases without a single death.

During the lockdown, the hospital, which was once the frontline facility in the pandemic fight, will admit only new COVID-19 patients.
