Thanks to effective cooperation between the authorities of Quang Tri (Vietnam) and Savannakhet (Laos) provinces, 2016 saw the exit and entry of 40 thousand vehicles, with more than 360 thousand passengers and about 200 thousand tons of goods going through Lao Bao International Border Gate.
In 2015, Vietnam and Laos started the implementation of the “one-stop-shop” model at the Lao Bao - Dansavan International Border Gates, aiming to considerably save businesses and people time and money as they only have to stop once for all checks.
The model also aims to minimize the number of offices one has to go through as well as the amount of paperwork to be done at the international border gates.
