Ho Chi Minh City launch smart healthcare, education management centers

The Ho Chi Minh Municipal Department of Health and the Department of Education and Training launched a pilot smart health operation center and a pilot smart education operation center in the city on February 11.

The launching ceremonies saw the participation of Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan. The pilot model of the smart health operation center is the first AI operation center of its kind in Vietnam which also includes an Covid-19 epidemic surveillance system.

At the launching ceremony of the smart health operation center, a representative from the Department of Health said that the center will help improve the efficiency of the management and supervision work, contributing to enhancing medical examinations and treatment.

The center is also expected to facilitate managers, medical workers, patients and people in health check-up and treatment. 

Deputy Director of the city’s Department of Health Tang Chi Phuong said that medical workers at the center can make contact with nCoV patients and are updated continuously on suspected cases instead of through paper reports.

Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan spoke highly of the significance of the centre, saying it would contribute to effective control of the nCoV epidemic.

On the same day, the city’s Department of Education and Training launched a pilot smart education operation center which is considered as an initial important step to build the city’s smart educational platform.

The center includes smart and online tools to manage the reporting system within the Department’s competence, organize online meetings and a real-time monitoring system via set-up cameras, and update latest information on the education and training sector, among others.
