Huge drug trafficking rings busted in Ho Chi Minh City

PSNews – The Ho Chi Minh City police force has destroyed two huge drug trafficking rings, seizing 24,000 ecstasy tablets and nearly 5kg of synthetic drug. This is a resounding victory to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day.

After a long-lasting investigation, on June 27, the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Police’s Drug Crime Investigation Division has successfully arrested Cao The Vu (28), residing in Binh Hung Hoa A ward, Binh Tan district, Ho Chi Minh City, red handed when he was illegally trading drug with Chu Huy Tuan (27), born in Nghe An province, seizing 1.7 grams of ketamine and 0.9 gram of marijuana.

On June 27, the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Police’s Drug Crime Investigation Division has successfully arrested Cao The Vu (28), residing in Binh Hung Hoa A ward, Binh Tan district, Ho Chi Minh City.

Raiding Vu’s living place, the force seized 5,202 ecstasy tablets (1.8 kg of MDMA - a psychedelic and entactogen drug of the amphetamine class) and 343 grams of ketamine.

The police force then expanded the investigation and discovered that Vu bought drug from Tran Quang Chung (32, from Hai Phong city). The above mentioned amount of drug was then transported to Ho Chi Minh City by Tran Quoc Hung (46, from Nam Dinh province).

According to the suspects’ plan, the drug would be transferred to lower members trafficking ring by Vu for reselling to drug addicts.

With the information gathered from these suspects, the police force successfully arrested Tran Quang Trung when he was trafficking more than 2kg of meth from Hai Phong city to Ho Chi Minh City for Hung, seizing 21.2 grams of ketamine and 0.2 gram of MA from Hung’s place on June 27.

On August 11, the force arrested another suspect of the ring, named Pham Anh Tuan (40, from Hai Phong city) and seized 24.3 gram of ketamine while finding 3,255 ecstasy tablets (1.083 kg of MDMA) and 261.54 grams of ketamine at Tuan’s place.

* The Ho Chi Minh Municipal Police’s Drug Crime Investigation Division discovered another big drug trafficking ring, led by Luu Van Chang (commonly known as Chay, 43, from Tay Ninh province), illegally trafficking drug from Cambodia to Vietnam.

On July 11, the police force caught Chang red-handed for his illegal possession of narcotics and seized 18 ecstasy tablets (6.3 grams of MDMA).

After expanding the investigation, the force arrested six other suspects of the ring, seizing 15,467 tablets of ecstasy (5.259 kg of MDMA), 1.674 kg of MA, 327.3 grams of ketamine, 785 million VND and many other exhibits.

This is a resounding victory to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day.
