MPS warns people against fake websites public security agencies

The Department of Cyber Security and Hi-tech Crime Prevention has recently detected a website faking the Portal of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS).

The fake website has the domain name of 024113vn[.]com while its servers are located in foreign countries. It has a banner saying "Ministry of Public Security Portal" but its the contact address is "Hanoi Ministry of Public Security Portal". The website is simply organized into three main sections, namely “Document search”; “Online inventory system” and “Safety monitoring software”.
When you visit the section "Online inventory system", it will ask you to provide your personal information and passwords of their online banking accounts. When you access "Safety monitoring software", a malware with ".apk" extension will be automatically downloaded into your devices. The malware will then steal all messages (SMS and MMS), call lists, phone contacts and other personal information you stored on the electronic devices to overseas servers. As soon as they have sufficient information about you, they will steal money from your bank accounts.
