Major drug trafficking ring busted, 300kg of drugs seized

The Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Border Guards and the General Department of Vietnam Customs, broke a major drug trafficking ring on March 20, seizing 300kg of drugs.

At about 13:35 on the day, police simultaneously raided five suspicious drug storage locations in Ho Chi Minh City and two others in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong. 

The police held in custody 11 people, including eight Chinese nationals, and seized 300kg of drugs.

According to the investigation agency, the drugs were illegally transported from Laos via Bo Y border gate to HCM City for sale.

The Ministry of Public Security is continuously coordinating with relevant departments and police of HCM City, Dak Nong, Tay Ninh and Binh Duong provinces to expand the investigation.
