Three Vietnamese students win gold medals at International Chemistry Olympiad
PSNews- According to the Education Quality Management Department under the Ministry of Education and Training, 4 students of Vietnam participating in the 2017 International Chemistry Olympiad all won medals, including 3 gold ones.
Accordingly, the 3 gold medal winners includ Dinh Quang Hieu and Pham Duc Anh, students of the Hanoi University of Science’s Gifted High School; Nguyen Bang Thanh Tam, student of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School. The silver medal went to Hoang Nghia Tuyen, student of Phan Boi Chau Gifted High School, Nghe An.
The 49th International Chemistry Olympiad was held in Thailand with the participation of 297 students from 76 nations and territories. According to the unofficial rankings, the US team ranked first with four gold medals; both Vietnam and China pocketing 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal ranked second. This is also the best result Vietnam has achieved at a International Chemistry Olympiad to date.
The Ministry of Education and Training will hold a ceremony to welcome and congratulate the Vietnamese students on their achievements at the 2017 International Chemistry Olympiad at Noi Bai International Airport at 18h on July 15.
