Vietnam-Japan Special Friendship Ambassador adopts orphans in Hanoi Birla Village

PSNews – Vietnam-Japan Special Friendship Ambassador Ryotaro Sugi has announced that he has just adopted all children at Birla Children's Village in Hanoi, bringing the number of the Special Friendship Ambassador-adopted children to more than 100 since 1988.

Vietnam-Japan Special Friendship Ambassador Ryotaro Sugi said that after a three-day visit to Vietnam from September 21 to 23, he would continue mobilizing the Government of Japan to support Vietnam on social issues.

At the signing of a project to upgrade the Birla Children's Village in Hanoi between the Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Kunio Umeda and the Board of Directors of Hanoi Birla Children's Village.

During a visit to the Birla Children's Village in Hanoi on September 21, the Vietnam-Japan Special Friendship Ambassador decided to adopt all orphans at Hanoi Birla Children's Village. He also witnessed the signing of a project to upgrade the Birla Children's Village in Hanoi between the Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Kunio Umeda and the Board of Directors of Hanoi Birla Children's Village.

is the newly signed project is part of the Japanese government's nonrefundable aid program in the fiscal year of 2017 for social issues in Vietnam. The signing was also to celebrate the 44th anniversary of the establishment of Japan-Vietnam diplomatic relations.

With the 83,186 USD aid package, a 400-square-meter two-storey vocational building, with 2 vocational classrooms, 2 storage rooms, 2 physical rooms and other facilities, will be built at Hanoi Birla Children's Village.

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Kunio Umeda said, "I am very happy supporting the village, and I expect that the Birla Children's Village will use the building effectively. I also hope that the children in the village will improve their working skills to live independently in the future. They are the bridge connecting the two nations and promoting Japan-Vietnam friendship.”
