Vietnam and Germany cooperate in fighting COVID-19

The Vietnamese – German Center for Medical Research (VG-CARE), based in Hanoi, recently presented 2,000 3M-N95 masks and 100 protective suits to the Institute for Tropical Medicine, University of Tübingen.


According to a statement from the German Embassy in Vietnam, the two countries would further cooperate in the fight against the pandemic. The donation came amid an urgent need for medical supplies for treatment of patients in German hospitals. The Institute for Tropical Medicine received the donation on May 11.

VG-CARE presented 6,000 patient-sampling tubes for a clinical trial of COVID-19 treatment launched on April 1 by the Universities of Tübingen, Hamburg and Stuttgart.

This effort has been promoted by Vietnamese Director of VG-CARE Le Huu Song.
