Minister To Lam attends great national unity festival in Ha Giang

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security on November 11 attended the Great National Unity Festival in celebration of the 88th Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (1930-2018) in Vinh Son Village, Vinh Phuc Commune, Bac Quang District, Ha Giang Province.

Present at the Great National Unity Festival in Vinh Son village were also Deputy Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Central Committee Truong Thi Ngoc Anh; leaders of the Ha Giang Province and the local people.

Vinh Son Village is home to 7 different ethnic groups. However, all people in the village live in harmony and support each other in economic development while actively improving the quality of the village’s new rural building criteria.

The people of the village have united in building a cultural life,  promoting education, taking care of people's health and protecting the environment while actively participating in maintaining local security and order.

During the year, 273 families in the village received the title of “Cultural Family”; 90% of the households were recognized to have well implemented regulations on the civilized lifestyle; over 98% of the children at their schooling ages go to school; and 80% of the households have health insurances.

In the joyful festive atmosphere of the Great National Unity Festival, Minister To Lam sincerely extended best regards and congratulations to local people. He spoke highly of the great achievements of Vinh Son Village in recent times.

Minister To Lam also required the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee to continuously direct the People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front and local agencies and organizations to renew contents and operational methods of the patriotic emulation movements, improve the effectiveness of local economic support movements, strive for sustainable poverty reduction, and build on new rural development.

The Minister of Public Security also proposed the Vinh Phuc Commune to bring into play the local strengths, encourage people to successfully implement all political tasks in the region.

He also urged the people of Vinh Son to promote their traditional values to build a better life.

At the event, Minister To Lam, Deputy Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Central Committee Truong Thi Ngoc Anh and Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee Trieu Tai VInh presented gifts to policy beneficiary households in Vinh Son village.
