Public Security Forces strictly follow PM’s directions on COVID-19 prevention

The meeting also saw the presence of Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Head of the Steering Committee for Epidemic Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Public Security.

At the meeting, delegates discussed issues related to the management of immigration as well as the control over border gates and cross border trails while maintaining cross-border transportation of goods. They also proposed solutions to support needy people as well as ensure medical stuffs amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the participants, thanks to the timely preventive measures against the disease taken by authorities at all levels, the COVID-19 situation in Vietnam has been put under control.

 Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam requested ministries, Central-level agencies and local authorities to strictly handle violations against regulations on quarantine and COVID-19 prevention and control while making public punishments of the violations on the mass media to raise public awareness of COVID-19 prevention and combat.

He also urged the Ministry of Health and local authorities to pay due attention to preventing COVID-19 infection in local social support centers and nursing houses.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son affirmed that the Public Security Forces have strictly followed the directions from the higher level authorities on preventing the disease while advising Steering Committees, Party Committees and authorities at all levels on preventive measures against COVID-19. Furthermore, the Public Security Forces have closely coordinated with the health sector to track down all visitors to the Hanoi-based Bach Mai General Hospital from March 10 to 24, contributing to preventing the spread of the disease in the community. 

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son also briefed the Deputy Prime Minister and the Steering Committee members on the deaths of two policemen on April 2 when maintaining security and social order following the Prime Minister’s Directive on COVID-19 prevention and control in Da Nang city.
