Armed Police School kicks off new academic year

PSNews - The Armed Police School held a grand ceremony on November 1, in Chuong My to open the 2016 - 2017 academic year, as well as to launch a refresher course on "capturing terrorists and rescuing hostages"; and to celebrate the 39th traditional day of the college (November 11th 1997 - November 11th 2017). 

Lieutenant General, Prof. Bui Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended the event.

At the ceremony, Senior Colonel Vo Huu Canh, Rector of the school reviewed the building and development history of the Armed Police School. Currently, the school focuses on 6 main training lines: task force police, mobile police, police guard, rapid response police, military training, and martial arts training.

On behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee and leaders of the Public Security Ministry, Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh acknowledged and highly valued all efforts of officers, soldiers, lecturers and trainees of the Armed Police College.

Hailing the school’s plans and tasks set for the 2016 - 2017 academic year, Lieutenant General Bui Van Thanh still asked the Armed Police School to conduct extensive reform in all working areas, and to keep promoting its position as a leading center in training armed police force of the Public Security Forces.

The College should make a master plan to improve competence and abilities of its teachers, managers, officers and workers so that it could frequently ensure both quality and quantity of its personnel; renew training programs; apply teaching approaches of trainee-centered; promote self-learning and self-study; facilitate creative thinking and practical application. 

In addition, Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh thanked Russian experts for their training Vietnamese anti-terrorist force at school.
