Binh Phuoc Police urged to enhance Party building, force building

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security on December 20 worked with the Binh Phuoc Provincial Public Security Department.

The working session saw the participation of Mr. Nguyen Van Tram, Deputy Secretary of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People Committee; Mr. Le Van Chau, Deputy Secretary of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee; and leaders of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Police Department.

At the event, Senior Colonel Tran Thang Phuc, Director of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Police Department briefed the Minister of Public Security on the unit’s task performance in recent times.

In 2017, the Binh Phuoc Provincial Police Department effectively advised the Provincial Party Committees and People’s Committee to direct relevant provincial agencies, organizations and people to maintain security and order, contributing to local socio-economic development.

The unit also implemented various effective plans to prevent and fight crimes, social evils, and maintain traffic order. Meanwhile, the movement of "All people protecting national security" was promoted and popularized across the province's localities.

As a result, the province saw a 5.8% fall in criminal cases (788 cases against 837 last year) while fire cases fell 30% to 36 incidents from 52, traffic accidents reduced by 3% to 293 from 302, and deaths and injuries in traffic accidents respectively dropped by 0.6% and 14% against the same period of 2016.

Addressing the event, Minister To Lam applauded the efforts and achievements of the Binh Phuoc Provincial Public Security Department in the past year, urging the provincial police force to promote Party building and force building.

Minister To Lam also urged the unit to continue their efforts in maintaining security and order while strictly implementing its intensive campaign to suppress crimes and ensure security and order during the 2018 Traditional Lunar New Year Festival.
