CAND Newspaper’s delegation visits Security Zone 5 Historical Site

PSNews – A delegation of the Public Security (CAND) Newspaper and the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department led by Major General Pham Van Mien, the CAND Newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief in January visited and paid tribute to heroic martyrs at the Security Zone 5 Historical Site in Tra Tan Commune, Bac Tra My District, Quang Nam Province.

Major General Pham Van Mien said the newspaper often visits historical relics to pay homage to heroic martyrs who made great contribution and sacrifices for national independence. Such an activity demonstrates the national tradition “When drinking water, one should remember its source,” he added.

Major General Pham Van Mien wrote on the guestbook of the Security Zone 5 traditional house: "We are deeply appreciated the heroic sacrifices of previous generations of public security officers who shed blood to ensure security and safety for the headquarters of Zone 5, contributing to the national liberation." 

"Their heroic sacrifices and victories have become the motivation for generations of public security officers including the officers and reporters of the CAND Newspaper to work harder", he wrote.

The delegation also took the chance to pay tribute to patriot Huynh ThucKhang at his Memorial House in Tien Canh commune, Tien Phuoc, Quang Nam.

During the struggle for the national independence, Tra Tan and Bac Tra My districts were the safe and firm revolutionary bases for the Regional Party Committee, the High Command of Military. 

Zone 5 and various agencies and offices under the military region’s command and leadership; including the Security Office of Military Zone 5.

After the victory and unification, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security decided to invest in building the Historical Site of the Security Zone 5 to express gratitude to fallen security officers in the fierce battles in this heroic land. 

The historical relic site also plays a significant role in educating revolutionary traditions for the young generation.
