Candles lit at martyrs’ cemeteries in Nghe An

PSNews - In a sacred atmosphere at the Do Luong District International Martyrs’ Cemetery, delegates and nearly 700 young officers of the Public Security Forces offered flowers and incense, and paid tribute to the heroic martyrs who had laid down their lives for national liberation.  

On the occasion of the 71st War Invalids and Martyrs' Day(July 27, 1947-2018),  and in the buildup to the 50th anniversary of the Truong Bon Victory (October 31, 1968-2018), the Standing Board of the Youth Union organization of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on July 22 in collaboration with the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union organization, the Youth Union chapter of the Nghe An Provincial Police and the Do Luong District People's Committee organized the Program "The journey to follow the heroes' footsteps" and the Ceremony “Lighting candles to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the International Martyrs Cemetery of Do Luong District.”

The event witnessed the presence of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Major General Nguyen Duc Minh, Director of the Party Work and Public Affairs Department under the MPS; Major Dong Duc Vu, Member of the Central Committee of Youth Union, Secretary of the Youth Union organization of the MPS, and many Youth Union members who are officers and soldiers of the armed forces, as well as local veterans and people.

In a sacred atmosphere at the International Martyrs’ Cemetery located in Da Son Commune, Do Luong District, home to nearly 2,400 martyrs,  delegates and nearly 700 Youth Union members o offered flowers and incense, and paid tribute to the heroic martyrs who had laid down their lives for national liberation. 

On this occasion, the Youth Union organization of the MPS and the Youth Union organization of Nghe An Province also presented 15 packs of gifts (each worth 1 million VND) to families of wounded soldiers, families of martyrs, revolution contributors and families of 10 needy police officers in Do Luong District.

Earlier, the working mission of the Youth Union organization of the Ministry of Public Security also organized social activities, including offering incense and laying flowers wreaths at the Kim Lien Relic Site, the Relic Site of late Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc Hoan, and the Truong Bon National Historical Site, and visiting and presenting gifts to local policy beneficiary families and revolution contributors, while doctors and nurses of the mission offered free health check-ups and medicines, and social order police officers issued free ID cards to people residing in Nghe An Province.

 Such practical and meaningful activities promote the noble tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source," and the philosophy of life “Returning gratitude” of our nation, as well as show the responsibility, sentiment and gratitude of the Vietnamese youths in general and young officers of the Public Security Forces in particular to their forefather generation.
