Amid complicated developments in the COVID-19 situation, the Da Nang City police forces in coordination with the Department of Health set up various checkpoints to measure body temperature of travelers, especially those from epidemic-hit areas.

Police officers at border gates made great efforts to fight COVID-19 while managing entry and exit of passengers.

After two days of operation, the functional forces checked body temperature and instructed thousands of tourists and made them complete their health declarations, contributing to early detecting and quarantining cases with signs of COVID-19
infection.

Particularly, non-Vietnamese citizens with a high temperature will be taken to 199 Hospital under the Ministry of Public Security while overseas Vietnamese nationals with a high temperature will be taken to the Da Nang Lung Disease Hospital.

According to Senior Colonel Nguyen Duc Dung, Head of the Advisory Division under the Da Nang City Police Department, seven checkpoints have been set up on gateways to Da Nang city. The forces , including medical staff, local traffic police and ward police, work 24/24 at the checkpoints to measure body temperature of every one entering the city.

Senior Colonel Pham Minh An, Head of the Da Nang International Airport Border Gate Police Division under the MPS’s Immigration Department said that police officers and soldiers at Da Nang International Airport always have close contact with many passengers. Therefore, the unit has taken various specific plans to ensure medical equipment and supplies for all officers performing their tasks at the checkpoints, to help them avoid Covid-19 infection.
