Dak Nong trains officials in fire prevention and fighting

PSNews – The Provincial People’s Committee of Dak Nong organized a conference on December 18 to explain the responsibility of leaders of agencies, organizations and units on fire prevention and fight and rescue.

The conference saw the presence of Mr. Cao Huy, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Senior Colonel Le Van Tuyen, Director of the Provincial Police Department of Dak Nong and representatives from various local agencies, organizations and units.

In recent times, a number of large fire and explosion incidents have occurred in the country, causing big losses of humans and property, said Mr. Cao Huy. Dak Nong alone saw 29 fire incidents, up by 17 cases compared with 2017, killing one person and causing loss of 5.5 billion VND. These incidents mostly happened in populous areas.

According to reports, these incidents resulted mainly from people’s carelessness in using fire, electric devices and violations of the regulations on fire prevention.

Reports also showed that some leaders of agencies, organizations and units lacked knowledge and responsibility for fire prevention and fighting.

At the meeting, Senior Colonel Pham Tien Trieu, Vice Director of the Provincial Police, explained to the participants about the responsibility of leaders of units in fire prevention and fight, provided them with basic contents of the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and relevant documents, knowledge and skills in fire prevention and fighting.
