Department of Political Work kicks off special emulation drive

PSNews – The Department of Political Work under the General Department of Politics launched an emulation programme on December 1st, to celebrate its 50th founding anniversary (May 8th, 1967).

Major General Dao Gia Bao, Director of the Department of Political Work, Deputy Head of the Organizing Board, chaired the ceremony. 

The ceremony saw the participation of Senior Colonel Vu Hong Son, Deputy Editor in Chief of the Public Security Magazine; Colonel Pham Quang Khai, Deputy Editor in Chief of the Public Security Newspaper; as well as leaders of relevant agencies of the General Department of Politics.

On May 8th, 1967, former Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc Hoan signed Decision No. 237-CA/QD to establish the Department of Information and Education (currently named as the Department of Political Work). On August 29th, 2016, the General Department of Politics launched a plan for activities on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of the Department of Information and Education. 

This special emulation programme aims to popularize the glorious tradition over 50 years of development of the department and create an emulative but joyful atmosphere among officers and soldiers, encouraging them to improve the efficiency of work.

Accordingly, the programme includes 2 phases linked to great anniversaries of the Party and the State. The phase 1 lasts from December, 2016 to February 3rd, 2017, and the phase 2 runs from March 04th, 2017 to May 19th, 2017. 

At the ceremony, with the presence of participants, representatives of units and mass organizations of the Department of Political Work signed an agreement to emulate one another in fulfilling their assigned tasks.
