Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam receives Vietnamese religious leaders

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security on January 29 received a delegation of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), led by Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Permanent Vice President of the VBS Executive Council, visiting and congratulating the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

On behalf of the VBS, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu thanked the leaders of the MPS for their supports to the VBS in various activities as well as for creating favorable conditions for the VBS to successfully organize various important events. Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu also hoped that the MPS would continue to coordinate and support the VBS in the future.

Speaking on behalf of the leaders of the MPS, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam thanked the VBS for their visit, and recognized and thanked the VBS for their contributions to maintaining security and order in localities of the country in the past time. Deputy Minister Nam also took the chance to extend best wishes of Lunar New Year of Minister To Lam to all monks and nuns.

On the same day, Deputy Minister Nam also received a delegation of the Hanoi Archdiocese, led by the Archbishop, Cardinal Vu Van Thien.

At the meeting, Cardinal Vu Van Thien also informed Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam of various outstanding activities and achievements of the Archdiocese of Hanoi in the past year, and hailed the Public Security Forces’ efforts in maintaining public order and security in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister Nam highly spoke of the contributions of Vietnamese Catholics to the cause of national construction and defense, public order and security as well as to the building of the great national unity and religious unity, creating a stable environment for the overall development of the country. 

At the same time, he wished all dignitaries of the Hanoi Archdiocese would further strengthen the unity of local Catholics, lead them to healthy religious practices and good life, contributing positively to the national construction and defense cause and the great national unity bloc.
