Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam visits Public Security Newspaper

At the meeting, Major Lieutenant General Pham Van Mien, Editor-in-Chief of the CAND Newspaper briefed the Deputy Minister on the situation of the Public Security Newspaper and its journalism activities in recent time and its information plan in the upcoming time.

Major General Pham Van Mien said, the CAND Newspaper currently has 6 print publications and online editions (Vietnamese and English). In the context where science and technology as well as other types of newspapers are developing strongly, the CAND Newspaper is still able to find its own way to maintain its brand, maintain its releases, and at the same time well carry out the task of popularising policies of the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security.
Thanks to the care and direction of the Party Central Committee, the Ministry of Public Security, the CAND online Newspaper has been upgraded in terms of all technical infrastructure, manpower, interface, content and form. The CAND Newspaper also launched an online English edition last year, and is planning to launch an online Chinese edition to continue to promoting information of external relations.
In this year’s National Press Awards, the CAND Newspaper has won a B prize and has been honored as one of the most-read newspapers.
Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam took the chance to extend his congratulations to all officers and journalists of the CAND Newspaper. He highly valued and praised the glorious tradition of the CAND Newspaper and stressed that the 70 year history of the CAND Newspaper has been always associated with the growth of the Public Security Forces. Each stage of development and each victory of the Public Security Forces are all reported promptly by the CAND Newspaper.
Deputy Minister also expressed his proud to witness the development of the CAND Newspaper as at many meetings with other ministries, Central branches and localities, he received much appreciation and compliment on the CAND Newspaper’s growth and efficient information dissemination.

Alongside its advantages, the CAND Newspaper like other press agencies face many challenges. Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam urged the CAND Newspaper to continue to promote its will, responsibility and the role of revolutionary press to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new situation, contributing to protecting national security, ensuring social security and order.
The leaders, editorial board and reporters of the CAND Newspaper should unite and enhance the responsibility to serve as an efficient tool to protect the Party, the State, the People and to contribute to building a stronger public security force.
Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam wished the CAND Newspaper to well accomplish its political tasks that the Party Central Committee and the Ministry of Public Security entrusted.
