Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong praises young man injured while chasing robber in Hanoi

According to a report from the Hanoi Municipal Police Department, on June 26, a robbery occurred at Song Giang Jewelry Store (No. 99 Me Tri Thuong, Me Tri Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi City). The robber took a number of gold items and fled away on a motorbike.

Upon hearing the shout of the jewelry store’s staff, Mr. Pham Quoc Huy (born in 1998, residing in Luong Son Town, Luong Son District, Hoa Binh Province) used his motorbike to chase the criminal.
Unfortunately, when Mr. Huy tried to stop the robber, he was stabbed and seriously injured. He was then taken to Hospital 19/8 under the Ministry of Public Security by the locals.
Reportedly, Mr. Huy has had a surgery and is now recovering well at the hospital.
On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong praised Pham Quoc Huy for his bravery.
The Deputy Minister hoped that the young man will continue to support the People's Public Security Forces in fighting crimes, contributing to protecting local security and social order.
Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong also asked leaders of the Department of Movement “National Security Protection” , the Department of Party and Political Work, the Department of Communications and Information, and the Hanoi Municipal Police Department to visit and inquire after Mr. Pham Quoc Huy.
Hospital 19/8 is tasked to take good care of Mr. Huy’s health and exempt all medical treatment expenses for him. The Hanoi city’s police should commend and award the man on behalf of the Ministry of Public Security’s leadership while urgently collecting evidence to propose the concerned authorities to prosecute the robber in accordance with the laws.
