Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi works with Southwest Mobile Police Regiment

PSNews – Major General Le Tan Toi, Deputy Minister of Public Security in January visited and worked with the Southwest Mobile Police Regiment.

According to a report delivered by Colonel Nguyen Tan Phuc, Commander of the Southwest Mobile Police Regiment, in 2020, the unit actively advised leaders of the Mobile Police Command and local authorities on measures to ensure security and order in the region.

The unit also coordinated with other public security forces to firmly protect security and safety for other holidays as well as important political, economic and socio-cultural events of the Party and State held in the region.

Speaking at the event, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi spoke highly of the achievements and working results of the Southwest Mobile Police Regiment over the past time.                                                             

“The Southwest Mobile Police Regiment, with its important position, deserves the title of the “steel shield”, the “steel fist” of the Southwest region in particular and of the country in general”, said Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi.

He urged the regiment to enhance Party building and force building while developing appropriate combat plans and regularly conducting combat exercises  as well as organizing operations to areas with complicated security and order to grasp the situation, support local people and consolidate their close relationship with the locals.

He also asked the unit to further improve the quality and efficiency of their task accomplishment while actively advising the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security on ensuring national security and social order and safety in the region to facilitate socio-economic development in the region.

*On same day, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi also visited and presented gifts to the family of Major Nguyen Thanh Hai, a police officer of An Hoi Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City, who died on January 24, 2020 while doing his duty.

During the visit, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi encouraged the family of Major Nguyen Thanh Hai and extended his deep condolences to the family over the death of the police officer.
