Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi works with the Department of Foreign Relations

Major General Le Tan Toi, Deputy Minister of Public Security, leading a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on May 26 had a meeting with the Department of Foreign Relations.

At the meeting, Lieutenant General Truong Van Thong, Director of the Department of Foreign Relations briefed the Deputy Minister and delegates on the department’s newly-streamlined organizational structure and results of its task performance over the past time.

According to the report, the department has well promoted the cooperation of the MPS with foreign partners. It has also advised the MPS’s leadership to address human rights in Vietnam and promote dissemination of external affairs of the Public Security Forces.

Furthermore, the Department of Foreign Relations has exchanged information with relevant units at home and abroad in support of the arrest and extradition of wanted fugitives.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak across the world, the Department of Foreign Relations advised the Minister of Public Security to offer medical equipment to its foreign partners while also receiving medical supplies supported by other countries to the MPS.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi recognized the results obtained by the Department of Foreign Relations over the past time.

Regarding its missions in the coming time, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi requested the Department of Foreign Relations to proactively coordinate with public security agencies units to expand foreign relations and cooperation.
