Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc works with Northern provincial police on population database and e-ID card projects

PSNews - Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on March 10, led a delegation to work with six northern provincial police on population database project and e-ID card project.

At the meeting, provincial police leaders of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Bac Giang, Lang Son, BacNinh briefed the deputy minister and delegates on the results of their implementation of the two above-mentioned projects. They also pointed out difficulties in implementing the projects. According to the reports, the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department has achieved remarkable results.

Particularly, for the population database project, the QuangNinh police have completed the process of collecting and checking all local residents’ information declarations. Regarding the e-ID card project, the provincial police leadership held a number of training courses for officers in charge of issuing e-ID cards. The officers are required to work in three shifts a day (15 hours/day) to meet the high need of local people for e-ID cards.

Currently, the police forces of six provinces have actively surveyed and made a list of the citizens from the age 14 living in their provinces. They also worked with schools, factories, enterprises, administrative agencies, non-profit units, military units to make the lists of e-ID card applicants.

Meanwhile, local police units develop plans to train knowledge of e-ID card issuance and task specific forces to effectively implement the two projects.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc asked the police of the six Northern provinces to mobilize sufficient forces to grant e-ID cards to people. The Deputy Minister noted that the work of fingerprinting and taking photos of e-ID card applicants must be conducted by experienced and skilled officers. Those who are unqualified must immediately be replaced, requested the deputy minister.

In addition, leaders of all police units should raise their sense of responsibility for the work by enhancing inspection and supervision of their subordinates’ implementation of the two projects
