Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son visits Thanh Xuan Prison and T16 Detention Center

PSNews – Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security on October 8 led a working delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) to visit and work with Thanh Xuan Prison and T16 Prison.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son visits and encourages inmate to follow the regulations and rehabilitate 

After meeting and encouraging inmates at Thanh Xuan Prison, Deputy Minister Son worked with the prison’s staff.

According to a report delivered by Senior Colonel Hoang Van Hiep, Chief Warden of Thanh Xuan Prison, in the first 9 months of 2018, the unit has actively taken various professional measures to detect, prevent and handle rule offences of inmates; correctly implemented policies and regulations on prisoners and created favorable conditions for inmates to serve their sentences.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son appreciated all fine outcomes and achievements of the prison’s staff in re-educating and rehabilitating prisoners and asked the Party organization and the prison's Board of Superintendents and all staff members to strictly and effectively implement all regulations related to detention as well as policies and regulations on the treatment of inmates.

On the same day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son and his working delegation also visited and worked with the T16 Detention Center (based in Hanoi), under the management of the Police Investigation Office of the Police Investigation Agency, MPS. Lieutenant General Tran Van Ve, Chief of the Police Investigation Office briefed the working delegation on various issues of the center.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son applauded the efforts of the center’s Board of Superintendents and all staff members to overcome various difficulties, and asked the functional agencies of the MPS to draw up a project to repair and upgrade the facilities of the Detention Center with priorities to be given to improving cells of prisoners, the surveillance camera system, the living and working places of the staff.
