PSNews - Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security led a delegation to check Ngoc Ly Prison in Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province.

The delegation also joined by Major General Le Minh Hung, Deputy Director of the Police General Department of Criminal Verdict Execution and Judicial Assistance; Senior Colonel Tran Duc Tuan, Deputy Chief of the Ministry of Public Security's Office; and representatives of relevant agencies under the Ministry of Public Security, Bac Giang Provincial Police and Tan Yen District's authorities.

During a tour around the prison, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son and the delegation checked the facilities and detainment conditions of the Ngoc Ly Prison, met with doctors working at the prison’s infirmary, and visited the ill inmates at the infirmary.

Speaking at the meeting with the prison’s staff, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son praised the outcomes of the Ngoc Ly Prison in recent times. He emphasized that the prison's Board of Superintendents and all staff members have made major efforts to overcome many difficulties, achieve these remarkable results, strictly and fully implement the management and detention of prisoners according to the regulations, and avoid any sudden or unexpected happenings.

He also hailed its re-education work and implementation of policies, while vocational training for inmates and their lives at the prison have been improved.

The Deputy Minister of Public Security  highly valued emulation movements among inmates, the implementation of the amnesty policy.

Deputy Minister Son then asked all police officers, soldiers and workers of the unit to overcome all difficulties and fulfill all assigned tasks while seeking supports from the local authorities and people, promoting the management, and re-education of prisoners and instructing them to follow the laws and the prison’s regulations.

He also asked the unit to attach importance to improving living conditions of the staff as well as of prisoners.
