Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son works with Southwestern police on COVID-19 prevention

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on April 2 held a conference on enhancing prevention and control of COVID-19 in Southwestern border areas.

Deputy Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Head of the MPS Steering Committee on COVID-19 prevention and combat, chaired the event.

According to reports at the conference, the police forces in the Southwestern provinces always attached great importance to COVID-19 prevention and combat. The provincial police departments actively and effectively coordinated with other forces in preventing the spread of the virus in the community, hospitals or quarantine zones.

The police force in provinces bordering Cambodia cooperated closely with the Border Guard units and the health sector in controlling illegal entry and exit.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son applauded the efforts and achievements of the police forces in the area in their pandemic prevention and control. He warned that the pandemic still remains complicated so there would be more illegal border crossings in the time to come.

He also asked the police forces to do their best to control the pandemic as well as illegal border crossings.
