Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son works with public security press agencies on dissemination of COVID-19 prevention and control

On the occasion of the 95th  Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2020), Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security on June 17 had a meeting with the public security press and media agencies.

As the Head of the Steering Committee on Disease Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), General Son also reviewed the results of the dissemination of information about the Public Security Forces’ fight against the COVID-19 pandemic over the past time.

Over the past time, the MPS’s Web Portal, along with the Public Security Newspaper, Television, and Radio, have made 7,395 news articles, television reports and radio broadcasts to disseminate information about the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam and popularized preventive measures against the disease in accordance with the guidelines from the health sector.

They also popularized the efforts and achievements made by the public security units and agencies nationwide in fighting the pandemic, including their close coordination with the health sector and military units in tracking and quarantining COVID-19 patients and suspects and handling of false information about the disease on social networks, while actively investigating and fighting crimes and law violations amid the pandemic.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son praised the efforts and achievements of the public security press and media sector in disseminating the COVID-19 prevention and control efforts over the past time.

He affirmed that the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam has been basically controlled while the country’s economy is recovering. However, the pandemic situation in the region and world is still complicated so drastic preventive measures should be employed to prevent the disease.

The Deputy Minister requested the public security press and media agencies to promptly and accurately provide the guidelines and directions of the Party and the State on national socio-economic recovery and development,  as well as the results of Vietnam’s COVID-19 prevention and control.
