Guard Police High Command reviews operations in first half of 2019

The Guard Police High Command under the Ministry of Public Security on July 4 organized a conference to review its performance of tasks in the first half of 2019 and roll out plans for the remaining months of the year in the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

On the occasion, authorized by the State President, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh presented the certificate and pinned the insignia of the second-class Feat of Arm Order to Major General Nguyen Quang Hung, Deputy Commander of the Guard Police, for his outstanding achievements in ensuring security and safety for the APEC Summit 2017.
Regarding task performance of the Guard Police High Command in the first half of 2019, reports at the event read that despite complicated situations and difficulties, the force has ensured absolute safety for leaders of the Party, State and important political events taking place in Vietnam, especially the second DPRK-US Summit in Hanoi and the 2019 UN Day of Vesak in Ha Nam province.
The guard police also deployed effective measures to protect key targets and international delegations visiting Vietnam, including the US President and the DPRK leader.

Regarding force-building work, the command has maintained stability and observed disciplines while creating many positive changes. Meanwhile, all emulation movements were warmly welcomed and participated by soldiers and cadres.
For the achievements, the Guard Police High Command and its collectives, individuals were honored by the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh lauded the achievements of the Guard Police High Command in 2019’s first half.
The Deputy Minister then pointed out some predictions about domestic and international security challenges in the upcoming time and asked the command to actively grasp the situation to provide timely advice for the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security to better lead the guard missions.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh urged the force to closely coordinate with relevant forces, agencies and branches, police units in localities to ensure absolute safety for all activities of the country’s leaders, premises of important agencies of the Party, State, international guests visiting Vietnam and political events of the country.
The Guard Police High Command was also asked to actively advise the ministry on the implementation of the Law on Guard Force and to focus on researching and applying modern technologies to improving the quality and efficiency of the security work.
According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh, the strengthening and expansion of cooperation with the international security forces are the areas that the force should pay attention to.
