Ho Chi Minh City police launch campaign to suppress crimes

PSNews – The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department on July 15 launched an intensive campaign to suppress crime, and ensure absolute safety for Party congresses at all levels and the 13th National Party Congress.

Senior Colonel Le Hong Nam, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department chaired the event.

The campaign is in response to the 75th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day (September 2), the 75th Traditional Day of the Public Security Forces, and 15 years of the National Festival “All-People Protect the National Security.”

In the first 6 months of 2020, the Ho Chi Minh City police forces has implemented synchronous measures to ensure security and order in locality, and achieved many positive results including a reduction of 1.79% in the number of criminal cases compared to the same period last year. Many criminal and drug-related gangs were eliminated.

Road traffic accidents were also decreased in numbers while the political security situation was stably maintained. However, the situation of security and order in the city still contains potential complicated developments.

In order to resolve the above issues, to protect absolute safety for the upcoming Ho Chi Minh City Party organization Congress of the term 2020-2025 in preparation for the 13th National Party Congress, and to implement the working plan of the Ministry of Public Security, the city police launched an intensive campaign to suppress crimes in the city. The campaign lasts for 2 months, from July 15 to September 14

The campaign aims at maintaining political security and social order and safety in the city, proactively grasping the situation, and successfully fighting against sabotage, terrorism and riot plots while reducing the number of criminal cases and absolutely protecting important establishments and key places.
