PSNews – The Tan Lac District Police Station, Hoa Binh Province has deployed over 150 police officers and soldiers in collaboration with local forces to pour 100 cubic meters of soil, stone and sand on the Khi dam, reinforcing locations at risk of breaks as floodwater level remained high due to recent heavy downpours.

The Tan Lac District Police Station on September 1 informed that the impact of the tropical depression circulation from August 30 caused terrible floods in Tan Lac District with the water level on local lakes and streams rising high.

There were several leaks on the Khi dam in Dai hamlet, Quy Hau commune. The dam would collapse if heavy rain continued and the dam were not reinforced.

Against this backdrop, the Tan Lac District Police promptly proposed the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue of Tan Lac District an action plan to handle the situation.

The unit deployed over 150 police officers and soldiers in collaboration with local forces to transport 100 cubic meters of soil, stone and sand to the Khi dam to reinforce it with a focus on places at high risks of breaks.

In addition, the unit also mobilized over 50 police officers and soldiers to guide traffic flows from Km 102 + 800 to Km 103 + 350 on National Highway No.6, in Tan Thanh Hamlet Quy Hau Commune. By September 1, all leaks in the Khi dam had been temporarily repaired.
