MPS actively fights false and distorted information against Party and State

Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Head of the Steering Committee 35 of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) chaired a conference on January 11 to review the results of fighting wrong and hostile views against the Party and State of Vietnam.
An overview of the event. 

The conference saw the presence of Mr. Vo Van Thuong, Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, and General To Lam, Minister of Public Security and senior officials of relevant ministries and branches.

According to reports at the conference, the MPS’ Steering Committee 35 collaborated closely with press and media agencies in orienting public opinion toward correct information about major and sensitive issues, contributing to protecting the Party's ideological basis and fighting false information against the Party and State.

Amid the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated closely with the Party Central Committee’s Commission on Information and Education and the Ministry of Information and Education as well as with the press and media to effectively handle false and distorted information about the pandemic causing worries and anxieties to people. The MPS’s timely and resolute handling of false information about the pandemic in the country and world has made people feel safe and secure.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam emphasized that the MPS’ Steering Committee 35 will continue strengthening coordination with relevant ministries, branches, and agencies to promote the work of protecting the Party's ideological basis and fight against wrong views as well as malicious and false information in the time to come.
