MPS holds meeting with public security NA deputies

PSNews – The Ministry of Public Security on October 23 held a meeting with the National Assembly (NA) deputies who work at the Public Security Forces and are currently participating in the 14th National Assembly’s fourth session.

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and Minister of Public Security chaired the meeting.

The fourth sessions of the 14th National Assembly will last for a month. During the session, the National Assembly is expected to adopt 6 acts, and discuss 12 draft resolutions and 9 other bills, of which some involve the tasks of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety and anti-crime of the public security forces.

Especially, the draft Law on Denunciations and Complaints, draft Law on National Defense, Law on Anti-Corruption, Law on Forest Protection and Development and two bills on State secrets protection and cyber security, which have been compiled by the Ministry of Public Security, will also be discussed at the session.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam warmly welcomed the National Assembly deputies of the Public Security Forces attending the 14th NA’s 4th session. Minister To Lam asked the public security deputies to well manage their work and participate fully in the NA meetings as well as the meetings of their committees and groups.

At the same time, the deputies were asked to uphold sense of responsibility, when participating in NA discussions and activities, to contribute good ideas to draft laws, especially those relating to security and order, to ensure that all bills drafted by the MPS submitted to the NA will be passed with the highest number of votes, contributing to enhancing the position of the public security forces in the NA forum.

Regarding the socio-economic issues, Minister To Lam urged the NA deputies of the public security forces to be active in giving ideas during discussions both in the Hall and in groups. 

At the same time, they should proactively communicate with other deputies and mass media outside the Hall on the results of the public security forces contributing to national socio-economic development, as well as the public security forces’ readiness to protect security and safety for the upcoming APEC Summit Week 2017, with the aim of seeking more support from others NA deputies for the public security forces, facilitating the force’ fulfillment of the tasks entrusted by the Party, the State, the National Assembly and the people.
