MPS honors UNODC Officer-in-charge with memorial medal
PSNews - The Department of Foreign Relations (under the MPS), under the authorization of the Minister of Public Security, on July 19, presented an insignia “National Security Protection” to Mr. Christopher Batt, Officer-in-charge of the UNODC in Vietnam in recognition of his contribution to the cooperation between the UNODC and the MPS of Vietnam on crime prevention and control.

In the fast-changing and increasingly complex situations of the region and the world directly impacting security and order in various countries, including Vietnam, Vietnam’s authorities have actively promoted multilateral cooperation with various international partners, including the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in the field of prevention and fight against crimes, particularly drug-related crimes and terrorism.
The MPS of Vietnam highly appreciated the contribution of Mr. Christopher Batt over the past 9 years working in Vietnam as an Advisor of prevention and fight against money laundering and terrorism in the Mekong Sub-region as well as the Officer-in-charge of the UNODC in Vietnam.
Mr. Christopher Batt has contributed to orienting, developing, implementing and evaluating UNODC's main cooperation programs in Vietnam on prevention and fight against cross-border organized crimes, corruption, money laundering, terrorism as well as criminal justice, reduction of demand of drugs and HIV / AIDS prevention.
The Minister of Public Security decided to confer the insignia “National Security Protection” on Mr. Batt in recognition of his contribution.
