MPS launches National Population Database Center

The Ministry of Public Security organized an event to introduce the National Population Database Center on August 17. Major General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered a keynote speech at the event.
At the event. 

Colonel To Anh Dung, Deputy Head of the Police Department on Administrative Management of Social Order, was appointed as the director of the center.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc applauded the efforts of the Standing Board of the Party Executive Committee and leadership of the Police Department on Administrative Management of Social Order in implementing the Directive and Decision of the Ministry on the building of the center.

He also asked the Department to coordinate with specialized units to advise leaders of the Ministry and the Government on the amended Law on Residence to be reported to the National Assembly.

The center has become the largest-ever information technology project in Vietnam so far, which offers new method of population management by applying scientific and technological advances. The center is expected to effectively facilitate the building and use of the National Database on Population and Citizen’s ID Numbers.

The project does not only bear especially important meaning to the Public Security Forces but also contribute to building an e-government and digital economy in the country.
