The conference saw the presence of representatives of relevant committees of the National Assembly, public security agencies and units.
According to reports at the conference, during 3 years of the implementation of Project No.4, the Project Management Board advised the governmentto issue 05 decrees, 03 directives and 08 decisions related to child protection. The board also issued over 320 reports including key solutions on preventing and fighting againstchild abuse.
The Management Board of Project 4directed the functional agenciesto handle emerging issues on violence and sexual abuse of children, prevent child abuse on cyberspace, and stop child labor and school violence.

Regarding criminal investigation, the investigation agencies at all levels successfully investigated 14,975 criminal cases and arrested 19,587 suspects related to child abuse, juvenile crime, domestic violence, and human trafficking in the year.
In general, there was a reduction of 3.13% in the number of child abuse cases and 10.02% cases of juvenile crime compared to the period of 2015-2017.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Le QuyVuongrequested the Public Security Forces, with the Criminal Police Force playing the core role, to continue to strengthen coordination with relevant agencies to enhance child protection.
The deputy minister also stressed the need to increase law education and dissemination, and build a safe social environment, playgrounds for kids and juveniles while paying more attention to teaching life skills and self-protection skills for children.
In addition, the Management Board of Project No.4 should promote international cooperation in the field of child abuse prevention as well as seriously implement international agreements on children's rights to which Vietnam is a member.
