MPS takes drastic measures to counter COVID-19

According to reports at the meeting, in response to the complex situation of the epidemic, the MPS has developed plans and closely followed the directions of the Prime Minister as well as the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
The Ministry has directed all affiliated agencies and local police units to take measures to prevent and combat the disease, timely and effectively monitor, detect and isolate suspected cases and people contacting infected people.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son stressed that the country’s prevention and combat of COVID-19 encounter many challenges as the number of infected people is on the rise. Thus, the Public Security Forces, particularly units in the frontline of the COVID-19 fight, will have to make more efforts. They will also need more logistic supplies for the work of prevention and control of the disease.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son asked all public security agencies and units to promptly review local situations and complete plans to address scenarios of the disease at various levels sketched by the National Committee.
The Deputy Minister also requested agencies and units to encourage teams and individuals with outstanding achievements in prevention and combat of the disease in the past time.
